Euro Shawarma is a popular fast food joint in York that specializes in shawarma sandwiches. Although the food isn’t mind-blowing, it certainly does not disappoint. The pita pocket style sandwich is a bit different than the traditional wrap, but it’s definitely a nice twist. What sets Euro Shawarma apart from other fast food shawarma places is the variety of toppings they offer. You can choose from a range of vegetables, pickles, and sauces to customize your sandwich.

While the hot sauce added to the sandwich twice wasn’t particularly spicy, it still added a nice flavor to the overall taste of the sandwich. One downside, however, is that the meat is pre-cooked and stored inside a tray, which means that it’s not as fresh as some other restaurants. This is a minor setback, though, as the taste of the meat is still good and consistent.

Another odd thing about Euro Shawarma is the way they layer their toppings inside the sandwich. You end up eating the meat by itself, then the vegetables, and then the meat again. Despite this, the sandwich is still tasty and filling. The restaurant also offers other options like falafel and beef, as well as platters that come with garlic potatoes, rice, and salad.

The interior of Euro Shawarma is decent, with a few tables and chairs for customers to sit and eat their food. During my visit, the restaurant was empty, which made for a peaceful and quiet eating experience. The service is nothing out of the ordinary, but the staff is friendly and efficient. It’s worth noting that they only accept debit and not Visa, which may be a downside for some customers.

Overall, the price of $9.25 for a sandwich is reasonable and reflects the quality of the food. I’ve been to Euro Shawarma a handful of times and the taste is consistently good, and the serving times are fast. If you’re in the mood for a quick and satisfying meal, Euro Shawarma is definitely worth a try.
